National-Theatre-A-Musical-Drama-Jane-Eyre-Charlotte-Bronte

In the days of Pandemic and Epidemic, as we are all stuck in the same, where on and often notification keeps on notifying about the happenings of the world and how sorry state it is to know, that all the countries are grappling for the same. Everyone wants to combat "Covid19" wants to he free but it isn't becoming much easy, rather day by day it is deteriorating all respective countries situation...

Why not in such condition have a mental healing in the form of musical drama..

A musical drama "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte, one of the Bronte sisters. In the days of epidemic and pandemic, it has been screened for free on the "National theatre".
STAGE STRUCTURE

The stage has a dynamic like structure, which seems to be at once "horse-stable" as some of the subsequent scenes are performed in alike manner as horse are getting fastened under the roof.
While placing of ladders,  to comfortize the performers' movements resembles the very structure of horse-stable and the black iron bars. While back part of the stage is separated.

A VARIETY OF TECHNIQUE TO ENHANCE DRAMATIC EFFECT

Stage atmosphere is being changed with a variety of lightening colours like; blue, red, orange etc. Sometimes to enhance the terrible effect specific shadowed effect is implemented, which foreshadows the concern character's future.
MAIN CHARACTER'S JOURNEY

"I must have changed" and many other "liberantian words" are used as archetypal symbols, which predicts Jane Eyre ultimate fate, which was priorly in unconscious state and later on being reflected in her own life.
Search_for_an_identity engulfes the rest first half scence, seen in the form of the heroine herself struggling for to_be_or_not_to_be as she is given by a preacher, a_childs_guide and further sermons to follow and is equally being followed by her at times, revolted against it and likewise is being punished by the preacher in the name of opposing the very prospect of  submission_to_religion as expected from Eve in Paradise_Lost. Where Jane_Eyre is blamed as "a servant of evil" and hurled in red room for an innocent deed's punishment. The last half part describes the two main characters and their love story.
As the play proceeded further, the intimacy between the two characters is shown. How with satiation of emotionality it is being advanced and given a triumphant feeling of love, relation transforming into marriage identity, but somehow interrupted in between and lastly living a relationship with bonding of two hearts. Which perhaps will be seen as beyond our understanding and giving an unpleasant feeling of ignorance as if the society will become this much free at extremity, then what will be said for upcoming generation...

DRAW OUTS

The mood transforms, through enhancement and lowering the music effect as well as by changing the very stage atmosphere, by a variety of colours, photo frames, costumes and iron bars. Which seems to be very effective to increase and decrease a scence's impact on audience. Pragmatically can be said this drama would have achieved a measurable success.
Must see the frame structure as  foreshadowing "Liberantian Aspect" of marriage. How it first symbolises "patriarchy" then sudden release of those frames, giving her the sense of freedom and ultimately blessed with liberty, but with different concept.
A worth watching movie, it depends, how we watch it, whether by convex or concave lens and if adjusting, then shrinking or broadening? Or just seeing what the lens want us to see.

A must watch "musical drama"! Who knows if you are watching, you will be getting some other view of it.....

I have read the original novel, which is one type of sensational and thriller melodrama only. However, this dramatic version seems to be a refined rewriting of the original novel and it skilfully subverts the myth of patriarchal power structures and power relations by the way Jane expresses her freedom from the chauvinistic male dominated patriarchy. It is really a good experiment...
